Minted in 2010 and unveiled on March 27th at the American Numismatic Association's National Money Show, the Boy Scouts of America commemorative coin is one of the last commemorative silver dollars to be issued by the US Mint in this decade. This silver dollar was authorized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Boy Scouts of America organization, which celebrated its centennial on February 8, 2010. This is a treasured coin for any serious collector!
The obverse of the coin depicts a Cub Scout, a Boy Scout, and a female Venturer saluting with the years '1910' and '2010' inscribed to the left. Encircling this image are the inscriptions 'Continuing the Journey,' 'In God We Trust,' and 'Liberty.'
The reverse design features the universal emblem of the Boy Scouts of America, a heraldic eagle over a fleur-de-lis. Surrounding this image are the inscriptions 'United States of America,' 'Boy Scouts of America,' 'Be Prepared,' 'E Pluribus Unum,' and the coin's 'One Dollar' denomination.
These flawless proof coins are struck in 90% silver and graded PR70 by ANACS, one of the most respected coin grading services in the United States. They are available on a strictly limited basis.
